Security cameras provide constant monitoring of your business even when you are not there. Let’s face it. There is no way that you can be two places at once. You are either at home or at work, which is why security cameras can be your eyes even when you cannot be there in person.

If installed outside the back door, security cameras can help you to see who is outside or on your property before opening the door or venturing outside. This is a very important safety precaution for employees. It’s always a good idea to see who is at your door before you open it and if you suspect someone is on your property, security cameras can help to either confirm or eliminate that concern.

If a theft should occur, the use of security cameras can provide valuable evidence to help convict the perpetrator and possibly even recover your stolen item(s). This is true of both home and business burglaries. In addition, a business that is monitored with a security camera may carry more affordable insurance because it is less desirable for criminals who know they are being monitored. For the exact policy guidelines, check with your local insurance agent.

Security cameras can help employers and store owners to keep a close eye on their employees. Monitoring of employee actions can help in a variety of situations, including possible employee theft, customer complaints and other matters where video playback may be beneficial.

Connect your cameras to a multi-channel recorder and you’ll be able view feeds separately, store video, playback specific feeds, etc. State-of-the-art digital cameras combined with a network video recorder (NVR) will allow you to own and operate some of the highest-resolution video surveillance cameras ever made. Cameras capable of delivering high definition video, in full color, are common now. Of course, most homeowners are familiar with the crystal-clear resolution of high definition video displayed on a 1080p monitor; the new standard for high definition television viewing.

At the cutting edge of this technology are 3 megapixel (MP) and 4 MP cameras, which deliver video that’s even more detailed than 1080p HD. Even better, most cameras now feature built-in infrared LED lamps, which project invisible “light” that cameras can use to see clearly, even in the deepest dark, with night vision technology. Beams are projected up to 100 feet or more, to illuminate anyone who approaches your property under cover of darkness.

Access control enables you to control who has access to your building.

Locks and keys also allow you to secure your building, but when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys can be considerable. Keys may also be copied, creating even more security risks.

All businesses, whether small, medium or large, have assets that need to be protected from theft. There is also the issue of protecting staff and their property. It is common in buildings that are secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage.

Electronic access control provides the most efficient and convenient way of securing your building and assets. Installing an access control system means that you will never have to change a lock again. Tokens are issued to allow access through the controlled doors, and are easily barred from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves your company. Barred tokens will not allow access through the controlled doors.

Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without a PIN or access token is unable to enter. If necessary, doors may be set to unlock during a designated time frame.

Access control can also offer flexible control over users’ access rights. For example, all staff can gain access through the main door of a building, but access to internal areas may be restricted to those who have a specific need to be there. Access may also be restricted by time, only granting access to particular users at certain times of day or night.

Access control offers a secure, convenient, flexible and cost effective way of controlling who has access to your building and when that access is allowed. Access control gives organisations the security they need.
